A fairly brief and uneventful VFR flight over to Wichita, we had 'calmer' (gusting only 25 kts) winds and clear skies to depart Dodge. Fortunately this time the weather in Wichita was clear, and the main threat was actually once we landed in Wichita, with another front due to pass on Thursday early morning. I arranged with the FBO to hangar my airplane if the weather turned sour, and we grabbed a hotel in the city and got another Uber.
We got in touch with Adam and met up for dinner at a great counter-serve mediterranean restaurant, and then met my other friend Carmen (also a comedian) at a local 'speakeasy'-themed bar and walked around the city some.
On Thursday night we went and watched Adam and Carmen perform at the Loony Bin comedy club, which was a great time! By then I was beginning to look towards the Rockies for good mountain-crossing weather. Friday afternoon was looking like a good possibility, so we prepared to depart the following day.
