We awakened to cloudy weather in Vancouver, and I watched some seaplanes in the harbor from our window.
Fortunately the route from Boundary Bay to Seattle is short, easy, and icing was not a concern, so flying IFR would be practical again finally. I spent quite a while trying to arrange our arrival with US Customs, with the posted phone numbers ringing busy continuously, but eventually I found a ForeFlight comment that gave me a solution (an email address) and we finally got our permission from CBP. We got our Uber down to the airport and got ready to depart for our scheduled time.
We took off right on time and waved goodbye to Canada for the final time on this trip.
There was a little bit of cloudy and showery weather on the way down.
ATC set us up for the ILS from a long way out, but actually had to break us off and box us back around due to conflicting traffic into SEA. Eventually we were cleared for the approach and we were treated to great views of Downtown Seattle.
After a very long final, we landed at Boeing Field.
After landing and quickly clearing US Customs, we repositioned to the FBO and I borrowed the (fully electric, brand new Mercedes) crew car to pick up a supplies to do an oil change, which I intended to do when we visited my coustin in Northern California.
Our Seattle friends soon arrived to pick us up, and we went and dropped our bags at the hotel and went to a bar to join a happy hour in the Redmond area and then had dinner at a Japanese restaurant.
After dinner, we got some awesome ice cream.
