We woke up the morning of the Eclipse and were greeted with... mostly clear skies! I had feared that we might need to drive as much as an hour to find clear skies, but Mother Nature was kind, and ultimately we decided we would stay at the apartment. We went and got some lunch (tacos) before the eclipse. The apartment turned out to be a great location to view the eclipse!

After lunch, the Eclipse had officially begun, and we camped out in the common area with our camping chairs and eclipse glasses and waited... it got darker and darker, and finally we saw the famouse 360-degree sunset. Finally, it was totality! We enjoyed around 3 minutes and 40 seconds of totality! I rushed around to snap photos, and spent some of the time just gawking at it in awe.

After the eclipse, we were all pretty tired, so we relaxed for the rest of the day. We decided that, rather than fighting the insane post-Eclipse traffic, we would spend one more night before heading home. We ordered dinner and sat down to watch some Agatha Christie movies on TV.
