A strong-but-brief cold front passed over on Thursday night into Friday morning, and it became clear that clear skies and fair weather would prevail all weekend, so I booked our campsite (we got the last spot!) and rental car, and got ready to depart. I decided that I wanted to stop by Laconia, NH for fuel and lunch on the way to Bar Harbor, since I had heard it was a beautiful approach over Lake Winnipesaukee. We made an easy VFR flight up to Laconia, and indeed the approach into there was as advertised. We landed and were immediately tossed the keys to an old crew car to go grab lunch. We walked around Laconia a bit and enjoyed our lunch in a park.
