Since fuel in Burlington was expensive, and our next stop would be Philadelphia, I planned a fuel stop in between. I decided that N89, southwest of Albany, NY was a great place to stop. We departed Burlington and quickly made our way down to N89. It's a beautiful little valley with the airport nestled into it, with an ice cream place and a little strip mall just a couple hundred yards from the gate. There was one other airplane making laps in the pattern (clearly doing a student first solo, with the parents and instructor watching from the ramp) and nobody much else around. We walked to the strip mall, ordered some Chinese food, and then walked a bit further to the ice cream place. We ended up deciding to eat our Chinese foot on the ramp by the airplane, since I had forgotten to grab utensils at the Chinese place and we carry them in our "food bag". We had a nice time sitting on the ramp watching touch and gos while we ate our food.
